After a nice week in Reno we planned on going to Arizona to visit Maple’s parents and figured we should stop in Las Vegas for a few days since it’s on the way, and we love Las Vegas. I had some kind of stomach bug the morning we left so we got a late start and ended up getting into Las Vegas at almost two in the morning. I was tired and not feeling great but was excited to drive Semalú down the strip at night!

There’s lots to do, see, and eat in Las Vegas and the town is just kind of special to us. However when we’re in Vegas we like to stay on the strip and, luckily for us, the Circus Circus RV Park is right on the strip. Well almost, it’s just behind the Circus Circus Hotel, but it is a quick Lyft ride to anywhere on the strip. Read on for our review of the park.

THE GOOD:

Circus Circus RV Park is the only RV park on the strip. The sites all have full hook ups, some sites have lawns and tables, but most do not. The staff is friendly, there is a fully stocked mini mart, a huge enclosed dog run, propane fill ups are available, and the basic pull through sites are cheap. Plus there are 24 hour security patrols on bicycle and there’s a dog washing station next to the dog park.

This park is really all about the price and location.

THE BAD:

This is mostly a parking lot RV park so it isn’t pretty. Most of the sites have raised sewer connections which makes dumping your black tank a pain in the ass. There’s no laundry room available. The office doesn’t open until 10 am. And the bathrooms suck.

The bathrooms stalls are small and uncomfortable and the toilet is way to close to the door. Thankfully there are multiple bathroom buildings and each one has a handicap room that is nice and roomy. The showers are small and in disrepair but functional and kinda private. The big downside is that there is rarely soap in the soap dispensers and many of the soap dispensers are broken. Apparently the homeless frequently manage to get into the bathrooms and steal the soap.

THE VERDICT:

In spite of all the negatives, we always have a pleasant stay at the park and it’s in fact one of our favorites. The fact that it’s a parking lot park doesn’t matter because you’re in Vegas, so you’re going to be out and about unless your sleeping. It’s a short walk to two of our favorite places to eat, Tacos el Gordo (best Adobada tacos you’ll ever have) and the Pepper Mill, both of which have fantastic affordable food. If you’re going to Vegas, I don’t think you’ll regret staying here.
